Abstract
Method: The researcher conducted the study using a quantitative research method. The study group consists of 30 music teachers working in Manisa in the spring semester of the 2018-2019 academic year. In order to determine the demographic information of the study group, ''Personal Information Form'' and a semi-structured interview form which aims to determine the views of music teachers about the measurement and evaluation process were used. The researcher used a descriptive analysis method to analyze the data obtained from the interview questions.Findings: As a result of the research, it was observed that music teachers considered the following issues when choosing assessment and evaluation methods: Being suitable for measuring individual differences, course content, mobility skills and being suitable for receiving feedback. Nevertheless, it was observed that they consider these issues: being applicable in terms of physical conditions, being easily available, being suitable for measuring student level and also being useful in terms of time management. The problems experienced by music teachers in the measurement and evaluation process were: lack of family support, the time that spends for individual evaluations, lack of teaching hours, lack of equipment, lack of readiness, crowded classroom environment, difficulties in preparing appropriate measurement tools. Music teachers who teach inclusive students in the class, highlighted these problems: lack of equipment, lack of readiness, student indifference, time problem and lack of teachers. Teachers who have permanent immigrant students stated that language-communication problems and lack of self-confidence were important problems.Result: It was concluded that music teachers know many of the alternative and traditional methods of measurement and evaluation. In addition, music teachers stated that they could not use some assessment and evaluation methods for various reasons such as not being suitable for the physical environment, not suitable for content and student, not suitable for teacher and insufficient time. Keywords: Music Education, Music Teacher, Assessment and Evaluation
