Abstract
II SUMMARY Keywords: Duzce. It's Regions' Dialects. Examine. This study that we have examined the dialects in the city center of Duzce and its towns and villages around was started by collecting the dialects in 39 casettes. Following this, two of the casettes have been eliminated because of the unsuitability for the study of dialects and also the difficulty of analysis. The rest, 37 casettes available have been transcribed by a very meticulous study. After this, the analysis of the dialects through the text has been made. In order to illuminate the analysis of the dialects, history of the region has been examined and also in terms of guiding the probable scientific studies in future, a general index has been added. Another point outstanding in the text collected is the importance given to the chosen subjects to consist of folklorical elements, so that it may be a guidance for the other areas of study. The results which are concluded at the end of the research are added to the study with the name of `conclusion` by summarizing.lt has been found out that in our local dialects the rounded vowels which have been observed in ancient Anatolian Turkish are still in charge.Besides `+ge` which is caaled the leading suffix and `-gan`that is one of the partisipants arer still used in the local dialects as vital as they were used Karahan Turkish. İn addition to all these realities it is also determined that `n` which was back and middle consonants in ancient Turkish language has already been used in today's local dialects of ours. There is another facinating point that should be taken in to consideration is that forward resemblence is more than backward resemblence and in connection with this truth, lots ofsuffixes are in the circle of the rules of the vowel harmany. I do not claim that this study is perfect, however, I believe it will be a source in this area to fill a little space which may exist. Ill
