Fizik dersi optik ünitesi öğretiminde Jigsaw tekniğinin 10. sınıf öğrencilerinin akademik başarısına etkisi

Abstract

Araştırmanın amacı 10. Sınıf öğrencilerine optik ünitesinin öğretilmesinde jigsaw tekniğinin akademik başarıya etkisini incelemektedir. Fizik dersinin anlaşılması zor bir ders olduğu fikrinde yoğunlaşan öğrencide, akademik başarıyı jigsaw tekniği ile yükseltebiliriz miyiz? sorusuna cevap bulmak için güncel MEB müfredatında bulunan optik ünitesi içinde 'aydınlanma, gölge, yansıma, düz aynalar ve renk' başlıklı konular uygulamada yer almıştır.Araştırma 2014-2015 eğitim öğretim yılının 2. Döneminde Ankara ili Mamak ilçesinde bulunan Mesleki ve Teknik Anadolu Lisesi 10. sınıf öğrencilerinden toplam 40 öğrenci ile yürütülmüştür. Çalışma grupları öğretmen merkezli anlatım tekniğinin uygulandığı kontrol grubu (N=20) ve jigsaw tekniğinin uygulandığı deney grubu (N=20) olarak heterojen bir şekilde bir araya getirilmiştir. Bu çalışmada 'ön test-son test kontrol gruplu deneysel desen' modeli alınmıştır.Araştırmanın uygulama bölümünde önceden belirlenen konu başlıkları rastgele seçilmiş deney gruplarına dağıtılmış ve planlama anlatılmıştır. Çalışmanın süresi 1 hafta giriş ve planlama, 5 hafta uygulama olmak üzere toplam 6 hafta sürmüştür. Her iki grupta da konu anlatımı başlamadan önce ön bilgi testi öntest ve konuların bitiminde ise akademik başarı testi sontest olarak uygulanmıştır. Tüm grup çalışmaları bitirildiğinde ise deney grubuna ` jigsaw görüş ölçeği` uygulaması yapılmıştır.Araştırmadan elde edilen sonuçlar SPSS paket programında analiz edilmiştir. Araştırmanın sonucunda optik ünitesinin öğretiminde Jigsaw tekniğinin öğretmen merkezli anlatım tekniğine göre akademik başarıyı artırmada daha etkili olduğu, öğrencilerin adı geçen teknikle ilgili olumlu görüşler belirttiği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.Anahtar Kelimeler: İşbirlikli Öğrenme, Jigsaw Tekniği, Optik, Ön Bilgi Testi, Akademik Başarı Testi, Öğrenci Görüşleri

Purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of using jigsaw technique for teaching optics unit on academic success of 10th grade students. According to the current curriculum of Ministry of Education optics unit includes topics such as illumination, shadows, reflection, flat mirrors, and color.This research was conducted by participation of 40 students who were sophomores at vocational and technical Anatolian High School located in Mamak province of Ankara, during second term of 2014-2015 education year. Students were randomly assigned to four study groups consisting of five students bothwithin treatment group (N=20) where instructor centered teaching technique was utilized and within control group (N=20) where jigsaw technique was utilized. In this study 'pre test post test control group design is taken as a model.Previously planned topics were assigned to treatment groups and planning was explained to students. Duration of this study was six weeks in total consisting of one week introduction and planning and five weeks of application. Both groups were subjected to prior knowledge test at the beginning of the course and final test at the end of the course. When all group studies were finalized treatment group were subjected to jigsaw opinion survey.Data of the study were analyzed in SPSS package. Results show that using jigsaw technique for teaching optics unit is more effective than instructor centered teaching medhod on academic success of students.Key Words: Collaborated Learning, Jigsaw Technique, Optics, Academic Success
