Abstract

IV ÖZET Bu çalışmada Yahudi inancının merkez bir öğesi olan Ahid Sandığı ve onun İslam geleneğindeki etkisi araştırılmıştır. Ahid Sandığı, her ne kadar ahşaptan yapılmış, maddi bir sandık olsa da, zamanla Yahudi geleneğinin en kutsal eşyaları arasına girmiştir. Zamanla efsaneleşen sandık Tann'nın ikametgahı olarak görülmeye başlanmış, sandığın muhafaza edildiği mekânlar en kutsal mekânlar olmuş, yıllık ibadetlerin yapılacağı tek merkezler olmuştur. Bunun nedeni, sandıktan ziyade, içindeki objeler ve bununla beraber sandığın bazı mucizevi olayları meydana getirmiş olmasıdır. İslam geleneği ise sandığa bir yerde değinmesine karşılık, Kur'an yorumcuları bu meseleyi Yahudi geleneğinden etkilenerek bir çok yanlış bilgilerle açıklamaya çalışmışlardır. Bununla beraber bazı Kur'an yorumcuları ise ayette anlatılan haberi açık ve simgesel manasını da dikkate alarak izaha çalışmışlardır.

SUMMARY Degree Name: Ark of The Covenant according to Jewish and Islamic Traditions Keywords: Ark of The Covenant, Shekhma, Holy, A History of Jewish In this thesis, the Ark of the Covenant which is the central element of Jewish religion and its impression on the Islam tradition are researched. Although the Ark of the Covenant is made of wood and a material ark, wiht time, it becomes one of the holiest goods of the Jewish tradition. As time passed, the ark which becomes lefendary was seen to be the place of God, the places where the ark was protected become the holiest places, become the only centers that daily and annual worship will be done. The reason of this is the objects in the ark rether than the ark and beside this the miraculous events it had produced. Although Islam tradition mentioned the ark in some where, the interpreters of Koran tried to explain this sebject whit very wrong information by being affected from Jewish tradition. Moreover, some of the interpreters of Koran tried to explain the message told in the verse by taking into consideration its clear and symbolic meanning.
