Abidin Paşa (1843-1906)

Abstract

ÖZET Âbidin Paşa, 1843 yılında Preveze'de doğdu. Küçük yaşta Arapça, Farsça, Türkçe, Yunanca, Fransızca, İtalyanca, Arnavutça gibi dilleri öğrendi. DM ilimlerin yanında devletlerarası hukuk, uluslararası ilişkiler, kamu, maliye, mantık, kozmografya ve tabii ilimleri tahsil etti. Sultan Abdülaziz döneminde silahşorluk göreviyle saraya girdi. Kısa süre sonra mutasarrıf ve Galata borsası komiserliği görevlerine getirildi, kânûn-ı esasinin hazırlanması için kurulan komisyonda görev aldı. Diyarbekir bölgesindeki karışıklıkların önlenmesi ve ıslahat yapılması için kurulan hey'et-i teftişiyyeye reis oldu. Daha sonra Sivas valiliği ve Diyarbekir- Ma'muretülazîz ıslahat komiserliği ve oradan Selanik bölgesindeki karışıklıkları düzeltmek için Selanik valiliğine ve kısa bir süre sonra da 1880 yılında 38 yaşında iken hâriciye nazırlığına getirildi. Üç ay süren hâric^ejıâarhğı'ndan sonra Adana valiliğine tayin oldu. Sonra ikinci kez Sivas valiliği ve on ay sonra Ankara valiliğine tayin oldu. Yaklaşık sekiz sene süren valiliğinde önemli gelişmelere imza attı. Ankara valiliğinden sonra en uzun süren görevi olan Cezâir-i Bahr-i Sefîd valiliğine tayin oldu. Son olarak Yemen meselesini halletmek için kurulan komisyona âzâ olarak tayin edildi. 1906 yılında vefat etti ve Fatih Türbesi naziresine defnedildi. Âbidin Paşa, iyi bir eğitim alması, tecrübeli bir devlet adamı olmasının yanında iyi bir edip ve yazardır. Yunan filozoflarından Mevlânâ'ya kadar her türlü yazarın kitabını okumaktadır. Asıl ününü Mevlânâ'nın Mesnevi' sine yapmış tercüme ve şerhiyle kazandı. Bunun yanında birçok eser vermiştir.Paşa'nın hayatında Mevlânâ ve Mesnevî'nin önemli bir yeri vardır.

Abidin Pasha was born in 1843 in Preveze. in bis early ages, he learned Arabic, Persian, Greek, French, Italian and Albanian, in addition to religious sciences, he had education international law, international relationship, public, finance, locig and astronomy. in the period of Sultan Abdülaziz, he entered to palace as a musketeer. After a while, he was brought to the duty as pasha of province and the superitendent of police of galata stock exchange. He is in the commission which was prepared the kanuni esasi. He became chief in the heyeti teftişiye which was founded in order to prevent the confision in the region of Diyarbekir. then, he became grovner in Sivas and, later, he became as the innovation superitendent of police at Diyarbekir-Ma'muretülzâz. Then he was appointed to Selanik in order to solve the trouble of Selanik regjon.After a short while, when he was 38, in 1880, he was charged as minister of foreign affairs. He performed three months in this position then he was appointed to the governer of Adana. Then he became the governer of Sivas again. After ten months, he was appointed to governer of Ankara, in 8 years, he formed important developments during the process of governer. After his mission finished in Ankara, he was appointed to the governer of Cezâir-i Bahr-i Sefîd which was the his second longest mission. The last, he was appointed as a member of commision which settled to owercome the confusion of Yemen. He was dead in 1906 and burned to the cemetery of Fatih Tomb. He was not only a good writer and literatry man but he was also an experienced statesman. He read every kind of books from Greek philosphy to Mevlana. He won his real fame by translating and explaining the the Mevlana's Mesnevi. Morever he produced many works of art including. Mevlana and the Mesnevi has an significant role in Abidin Pasha's life.
