Türk toplumunda kent kimliğ algısı: Üsküdar örneği

Abstract

Farklı bilimsel disiplinlerin kendisine konu olarak belirlediği kent; mevcut toplumsal ilişkilerin, kurumların, değişimlerin mekân üzerindeki tezahürü dolayısıyla sosyolojik çözümlemelere imkân tanıyan bir olgudur.Bir kenti diğerlerinden ayıran nitelikleri onun kimliğini oluşturmaktadır. Kentin fiziki, beşeri ve kültürel özellikleriyle oluşan bu kimlik modernizmin ve küreselleşmenin meydana getirdiği sosyal ve kültürel dönüşümlerle değişikliğe uğramaktadır.Tezin amacı, yaşanan bu dönüşümlerin üç bin yıllık bir tarihe sahip olan ve Osmanlı kenti unsurlarını oldukça bol bulunduran Üsküdar'ın kimliğini nasıl etkilediğinin tespit edilmesidir. Bir Osmanlı kenti olarak ve hâlihazırdaki Üsküdar'da onun kimliğini oluşturan bütün sosyal ve maddi formlar tezin kapsamı içerisinde yer almaktadır. Üsküdar Belediyesi'nin bugünkü Üsküdar ilçe sınırları içerisinde ikamet eden ilçe sakinlerine yaptırdığı 2460 projenin Üsküdarlıların kente yönelik algılamalarını da içerdiği gerekçesiyle değerlendirilmesi tezin yöntemi olarak benimsenmiştir. İnsanların Osmanlı kenti kimliğinden beslenen bir algılamalarının olduğu, fakat bunu modern kentin unsurlarıyla ifade ettikleri tespit edilmiştir.Anahtar kelimeler: Kent, Kimlik, Küreselleşme, Algılama, İmaj

Urban, which is determined as a subject by distinct scientific authorities, is the aspect of current community relationships, facilities, variations on the location means it is the fact that provides sociological solutions.The properties that seperate a city from the others, form its character. This character that is occurred with the city?s physical, social, and cultural properties changes with the social and cultural transformations produced by the globallization and modernization.The purpose of the thesis, is the influence of these effects on Üsküdar?s identity, which is a city contains lots of Ottoman city signs and has a past nearly 3000 years. This thesis encompass all the social and physical components that forms the Uskudar?s character. 2460 project that is made by Uskudar?s inhabitants is the technique of the thesis since it comprises the perception of residents about Uskudar. It is determined that residents in uskudar have a sight produced by Uskudar character but they express it with the modern city facts.Key Words: City, Character, Globallization, Perception, Image
