Abstract
In this study a model about the hydrodynamic structure of the Black Sea isconstructed where the distribution of depth mean velocities is discussed. The Black Seaconsidered to be a two dimensional one-layer system where the computations are carried outunder the wind influence from different directions at different surface layer depths. Thenumerical method for the model is an explicit finite difference scheme which is used toreduce round-off errors and to improve level of accuracy. The criteria which insurescomputational stability is the Friedrichs-Courant-Le//'Y condition for hyperbolic distribution.Since the system is devised as single-layer. it is assumed as a completely homogenousand unstratified fluid. Accordingly. this type of hydrodynamic numerical model enables oneto predict the currents and the water levels in the Bbck Sea. It was found that under thestrong wind inriuence the curren! distributions change completely.
