Abstract

This thesis is a helpful guide for the business sector who are interested in getting a ISO 14000certificate and would like to make a complete environmental performance analysis. Expanding theelements of the Standard with special clues from real time applications in a multinational companyprovides a good basis for starting the procedures. In addition, it is also explained with the supportof some samples what documents shall be prepared and how. The core of the whole idea is adraft mathematical model that allows to make an environmental comparison within and betweendepartments or companies having different end products.
