Liselerde görev yapan okul müdürlerinin mesleki etik davranışları

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, okul müdürlerinin mesleki etik davranışlarının öğretmen ve okul müdürleri algılarına göre ortaya konulması amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda, nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden görüşme tekniği tercih edilmiştir. Araştırmanın evrenini, İzmir ili Karabağlar ilçesinde bulunan tüm resmi liseler oluştururken, örneklem ise bu resmi liselerden seçilen Anadolu, İmam Hatip ve Genel Liselerde görev yapan 21 okul müdürü ve 27 öğretmen olmak üzere toplam 48 katılımcıdan oluşmaktadır. Araştırmanın örneklemi, evrenden amaçlı örnekleme yöntemlerinden maksimum çeşitlilik örnekleme yoluyla seçilmiştir. Veri toplamak amacıyla araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen Kişisel Bilgi Formu ve 8 adet açık uçlu sorudan oluşan Görüşme Formu kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada katılımcılarla yüz yüze görüşme gerçekleştirilmiş ve katılımcılardan elde edilen veriler ses kaydına alınmıştır. Araştırma bulgularına göre, okul müdürleri ve öğretmenlerin etik kavramına yönelik algılarının ahlak paydasında birleştiği belirlenmiştir. Okul müdürlerinden beklenen en önemli etik davranışların mesleki kurallara ve normlara uygun davranma, adalet, eşitlik ve tarafsızlık olduğu kabul edilmiştir. Katılımcıların çoğunluğu, görev yaptıkları okullarda yazılı mesleki etik kurallarının olmadığını belirtirken, etik dışı davranışlara karşı okul müdürlerinin genellikle sözlü uyarılarda bulunduklarını ifade etmişlerdir.

The purpose of this study is to reveal the professional ethical behaviors of school principals from the perceptions of teachers and school principals. For this purpose, interviews from qualitative research methods were preferred. The population of the study consists of all high schools in Karabağlar, İzmir, while the sample consists of 48 school principals and teachers from Anatolian, Imam Hatip and General High Schools. The sample of the study was chosen by maximum diversity sampling from purposeful sampling methods. In order to collect data, the Personal Information Form and the interview form developed by the researcher and consisting of 8 open-ended questions were used. Face-to-face interviews were conducted with the participants and the data obtained from the participants' opinions were recorded. According to the findings, it was determined that the perceptions of principals and teachers related to the ethics were focused on moral concept. It was accepted that the most important ethical behaviors expected from school principals were behaving in accordance with professional rules and norms, justice, equality and impartiality. The majority of the participants stated that there were no written ethics rules in their schools, and that school principals were generally verbal warnings against unethical behaviors.
