Abstract
In experiments, the particle size, the flow rate of the gas, the solid to liquid ratio and the reaction temperature have been chosen as parameters, while the stirring rate was held constant. As a result of present experiments, It was observed that the decrease of particle size and the solid to liquid ratio but the increase of the reaction temperature caused to increase the dissolution rate. It was also shown that the flow rate of sulphur dioxide didn't affect the dissolution rate. In addition, by using the experimental data, the reaction kinetfcp of copper (II) oxide and malachite considering hete rogeneous reaction models, were examined and It was found that the dissolution rate of both minerals were controlled by chemical reaction. The activation energies of copper (II) oxide, malachite and their Arrhenius constants were calculated as 66,50 kJ mol, 32,12 kJ mol-1 and 4.69 x 107 cm s`1, 8.61 x 103 cm s`1, res pectively.
