Abstract
OF GENUS APODEMUS KAUP, 1829 (MAMMALIA:RODENTIA) IN EASTERN BLACK SEAZeycan CEYHANAnkara UniversityGraduate School of Natural Applied SciencesDepartment of BiologySupervisor: Prof. Dr. Ercüment ÇOLAKIn this study, 126 genus Apodemus spciemen collected from eastearn black sea have beenexamined. Species are defined that belong to this genus by the result of skull, dentition andmorphological skin analysis. Evaluations showed that the genus Apodemus has four species;Apodemus uralensis, Apodemus flavicollis, Apodemus iconicus and Apodemus mystacinus.According to morphological analysis A. flavicollis and A. iconicus showed many similarities.Morphological and biometric results also showed that A iconicus similar to these two species.Added to these results, A. mystacinus exhibited different features from other speciesmorphologically.2007, 51 pagesKey Words: Apodemus, morphological analysis, Black Sea
