Abstract
ABSTRACT Let R be a ring with idendity. All modules M are unitary right R-modules. This work consists of four sections. The first section is a preparatory section containing notions that will be needed. Let M be a module. If for any complement K in M and any homomorphism f : K- » M extends from M to M, we call M satisfies (*). In the second section we obtained the results among others. (1) Every GQ-ijective module satisfies (C2). (2) M = (Z / Zpn) © (Z / Zpm), where ra^a are positive integers, satisfies (*) if and only if M is CS-module. (3) If M is free Z-module satisfying (*) then M is finitely generated. If every complement having essential socle in M is a direct summand of M, M is called CESS-moduIe. In the third section we proved the following results. (1) A ring R is semi-artinian if and only if every CESS-module is CS-module. (2) Let R be a commutative Noetherian domain. Then R is Dedekind domain if and only if every UC-module is CESS-module. (3) Let R be a senn-artinian ring with essential socle. Then M is a CESS-module if and only if M = Mi © M2 where Mi is a CS-module with Soc(Mi) essential in Mx and Soc(M2) = 0. A module M is called weak CS-module if every semi-simple submodule of M is contained essentially in a direct summand of M. In the fourth section we obtained the following results:
