Abstract
The main purpose of business is to make profit. For this end, the client must create a demand in the first place, and meet it afterwards. In order to create demand, consumers should be persuaded to want and buy a product. In this case, the issue of persuasion is worthy of examining in more detail. Throughout history, efforts to persuade people have played an important role in every aspect of life. This is true for nearly everyone, and even close friends and family members consciously or unconsciously influence each other. The deliberate effort to persuade a person or a group of people in a particular direction is called persuasion. The main purpose of this dissertation is to examine the consumer buying decision process, which constitutes the basis of the issue of persuasion. This dissertation also studies the link between persuasion and attitude change by looking at persuasion process in the light of recent theories on the subject. The concept of advertising and goals of advertising constitute another major topic of this study. In this dissertation, objectives of the research, its limits and benefits, its main question, the model for the research, scales used, the sampling process and the experimental design and data collection process are discussed in detail. A considerable effort is made to evaluate the scales used in the survey and to explain the hypotheses used in the study. In the phase of analyzing the data, the findings of this study are summarized in a descriptive manner, while testing hypotheses, the relationships among the variables are examined in order to see if there were any similarities or differences. The question of whether there are differences between primary and final measurements of the variables of persuasion is tested by utilizing the T-Test. The effects of gender, the brand of tea used and frequency of tea consumption on persuasion are also tested through ANOVA test which is one of the general linear models concerning factorial repeated measurements.
