Demokrat Parti dönemi Kocaeli`de siyasi hayat

Abstract

Kocaeli, İlkçağlardan beri her zaman önemli bir kent olmuş, Roma'ya başkentlik yapmış bir şehirdir. Bu bakımdan şehirdeki tarihi eserler, kültürel miras ve kent tarihinin oldukça önem arz ettiği kanısındayız. Buna rağmen kentin yakın tarihine ilgili araştırmalar ne yazık ki detaylı değildir. Bu tez çalışmamızda Kocaeli'nin yakın tarihine-Demokrat Parti yıllarına- yakından bakmış olacağız.Kocaeli ile ilgili çalışma yaparken Demokrat Parti döneminin seçilmesinin en önemli nedenlerinden bir tanesi Demokrat Parti'nin Türkiye'nin çok partili hayata geçiş döneminin mihenk taşlarından biri olması ve aynı zamanda 27 yıllık CHP iktidarı sona erdirerek, Türkiye'de siyasal iktidarın el değiştirmesine sebep olmasıdır. Araştırmamızın kapsamı, Demokrat Parti döneminde Kocaeli vilayetindeki parti teşkilatlanmaları, belediye çalışmaları, ülke genelinde uygulanan iç politika gelişmelerinin Kocaeli gibi bir taşra kenti tarafından nasıl algılandığı içermektedir. Çalışmamızın temel amacı, 10 yıl boyunca devam eden ve siyasi hayattan çekilişi askeri bir darbe ile olan Demokrat Parti'nin iç politikalarına, İstanbul'un Anadolu'ya açılan kapısı olan Kocaeli'deki bakış açısını gözler önüne sermektir.

Kocaeli has been an important city since the early ages. It is a city that was once a capital city to the Roman Empire. In this sense, we believe that historical artifacts, cultural heritage and the history of the city have an importance. Despite this, the studies about the city's late history are unfortunately not detailed. In this thesis study, we are going to look throuugh the close history of Kocaeli, the years of Democratic Party.While conducting this research about Kocaeli, one of the most important reasons to choose the era of Democratic Pary is that Democratic Party's being the touchstones of Turkey's transition to multi-party system and at the same time, its causing the political life in Turkey to pass into other hands by ending 27-year-potency of Repuclican People's Party.The content of our research includes how the party organisations, municipal actions and the domestic party improvements being conducted through the country are perceived by a province like Kocaeli. The main purpose of our study is to reveal the point of view in Kocaeli, a door opening Istanbul to Anatolia, to the domestic policies of the Democratic Party which lasted for 10 years and was withdrawn from the political life by a military coup.
