Abstract
Ancak deneme motorunda SME ve karışım yakıtların kullanımı ile NOx emisyonunda artış görülmüştür In this study, the jet fuel (JF), marine fuel (MF) and rail road fuel (D2) in the Naval Forces diesel machines with SME blends (%5, %20, %50) were used in four-cylinder, naturally aspirated, direct (DI) diesel engine. In order to determine the engine performance and exhaust emission characteristics, the engine was exposed with full load and varied speed tests. In the results of experiments, as the SME ratio increases in the fuels, break specific fuel consumption (bsfc) and exhaust temperature increase, otherwise, SME and its blends showed a slight drop in the engine performance. In the experiments, carbon monoxide (CO), carbon dioxide (CO2), nitrogen oxides (NOx) and smoke opacity had been measured for each fuel. In the results of emission tests, it has determined that the oxygen content of SME has provided significant reduction in CO and smoke opacity emissions. But, when the test engine fuelled with SME and its blends, (NOx) emissions have been increased.
