Abstract
Hareketli cihazların konum tespiti, dünya genelinde üzerinde yaygın olarak çalışılan bir problemdir ve Nesnelerin İnterneti (Internet of Things, IoT) teknolojisinin hızlı gelişimi sayesinde, maliyet etkin donanımların geliştirilmesiyle beraber önemi giderek artmaktadır. Dış mekân konum tespitinde günümüzde ulaşılan noktada ortak kabul gören sonuca ulaşılmışken, iç mekân konum tespitinde henüz geniş kabul görmüş kabul edilmiş güvenilir bir yöntem bulunmamaktadır.Dış mekân konum tespitinde Küresel Konumlanma Sistemi (Global Positioning System, GPS) uydularından yararlanılmaktadır. Fakat iç mekân konum tespitinde GPS uydularından yararlanmak her zaman mümkün olmamaktadır. Localization of mobile devices is a problem that has widely been studied around the globe and its importance increases while the cost of Internet of Things (IoT) devices decreases thanks to the rapid development of IoT technology. Unlike outdoor localization, there is not a globally accepted and trusted indoor localization method. For outdoor positioning, Global Positioning System (GPS) satellites are used. However, it is not always possible to use GPS for indoor localization. GPS signals sent from the satellites become too weak for a GPS device to determine its location in indoor places. Another downside of GPS is that it is not very effective on high precision positioning. In this study, localization methods are studied with short distances for indoor and outdoor environments without using GPS. For this purpose, distance estimation and localization experiments are carried out using ESP8266-12E and mobile devices supporting The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) 802.11g standards. During the experiments, ESP8266-12E is used as the transmitter and several smartphones are used as the receivers. The distance estimation experiments have been repeated under different environmental conditions. In Matlab, for the three different path loss models, distance estimations are calculated based on the RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator) values on arriving the receive. By comparing the calculated and the real distance values, the performance of the models in distance estimation has been analyzed. In localization experiments, multiple receivers are used to collect data and lateration methods are used to assess the performance of the models.
