Abstract
In this study, the production of porous silicon (PS), which has become a serious research subject for sensor applications in recent years due to its electro-optical properties and its cost-effective, has been performed by electrochemical etching of silicon which is widely used in semiconductor industry. Depending on the pore size and external factors, photoluminescence spectra constitute an important stage of the properties that can be developed and controlled. For this purpose, production of gold nanoparticles (AuNp) by laser ablation method which is one of the nanoparticle production methods, and coating with porous silicon which is produced by electrochemical etching method has been performed. Differences between PS and AuNP doped PS were investigated and for this purpose Fouirer Transform Infrared Spectrophotometer (FTIR) and photo-luminescence spectra were measured at different humidities. It has been observed that AuNPs increase the intensity of photo-luminescence taken at different humidities. The results show that AuNP-GS structures can be used as humidity sensors.
