Abstract

Araştırma, Tanzimat Dönemi'nde eğitim alanındaki fikir değişiminigöstermeyi ve yeni açılan kurumların özelliklerini, işlevlerini, yapılarını incelerkengünümüz eğitimine yansımalarını göstermeyi amaçlamaktadır. Ayrıca modernanlamda öğretmenlik mesleğinin doğuşunu ve gelişme sürecini göstermeyi dehedeflemektedir.Tanzimat Dönemi, Türk eğitim tarihinin modernleşme ve laikleşme sürecindeçok önemli yer tutmaktadır. İlköğretim, ortaöğretim, mesleki ve teknik eğitim veyükseköğretimde yeni okullar açılmıştır. Bu kurumlar, Şeyhülislamlık yerine, yenikurulan Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı'na bağlanmıştır. Kız çocuklarının eğitiminebaşlanmıştır. Günümüzdeki anlamıyla öğretmenlik mesleğinin oluşması da TanzimatDönemi'ndedir.Öğretmen Okulları açılırken eğitimin bir bilim olduğu, öğretmenliğineğitim ve öğretim bilgisine sahip bir meslek olduğu düşüncesi oluşmuştur. Budüşünce Türkiye'de çağdaş anlamda öğretmenlik mesleğini doğurmuştur.
