Abstract
Bu araştırmada, Hayat Bilgisi dersi Benim Eşsiz Yuvam temasının karikatürlerle işlenmesinin öğrenci başarısına etkisi ortaya çıkarılmaya çalışılmıştır.Araştırmada öntest-sontest kontrol gruplu deneysel desen kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın uygulaması, 2009-2010 eğitim öğretim yılı, Tavşanlı ve Tunçbilek Okullarında ki iki ayrı sınıfta 40 öğrenciden oluşan örneklem üzerinde yapılmıştır.Sınıflar belirlenirken ikinci sınıf Hayat Bilgisi dersi karne notları dikkate alınmıştır. Böylece birbirine denk iki sınıf oluşturulmuştur. Tunçbilek İ.Ö.O deney grubu, Tavşanlı Milli Egemenlik İ.Ö.O. kontrol grubu olarak belirlenmiştir. Uygulama öncesi her iki gruba araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanan Hayat Bilgisi dersinin Benim Eşsiz Yuvam isimli temasına uygun, 25 sorudan oluşan çoktan seçmeli başarı testi, ön test olarak uygulanmış ve gruplar arasında anlamlı bir farkın olmadığı gözlenmiştir.Araştırmada modelin uygulanması kapsamında deney grubunda dersler 1. dönem Aralık ayından itibaren 10 hafta boyunca haftada 5 saat, her konunun kazanımlarına uygun olarak hazırlanan karikatürler eşliğinde işlenmiştir. Dersin başında kazanıma uygun olarak verilen karikatür ile derse giriş yapılmış ve dersin devamında da karikatürler kullanılarak etkinlik düzenlenmiştir. Ders sonunda yine karikatürden yararlanılarak değerlendirme yapılmış ve konuların işlenmesi bu şekilde tamamlanmıştır.Kontrol grubunda ise öğretmen karikatür kullanmadan ders işlemiştir. Süreç bitiminde yine her iki gruba süreç başında uygulanan başarı testi son test olarak uygulanmış ve test sonuçlarına SPSS 11.00 istatistik paket programından yararlanılarak çift yönlü anova uygulanmış, gruplar arasında anlamlı bir farklılığın olduğu gözlenmiştir. Test sonuçları incelendiğinde deney grubunun başarı ortalamalarının kontrol grubuna göre daha yüksek olduğu belirlenmiştir.Sonuç olarak, Hayat Bilgisi dersinin öğretiminde karikatürden yararlanmanın öğrencilerin ders başarılarını olumlu yönde etkilediği tespit edilmiştir.Anahtar Kelimeler: Hayat Bilgisi dersi, Karikatür, Hayat Bilgisi öğretim programı, Görsel okuma. This thesis evaluates the impact of the education with cartoons applied in the subject `My sweet home` within life studies lesson on the performance of students.The analysis presented in this thesis includes a pre- and post- test.Furthermore it is based on a sample of 40 pupils in total of two different classes of a primary school in 2009/2010 , i.e. one in Tavsanli and another one in Tuncbilek, Turkey.The students of the above stated groups were selected according to their grades in the second class of life studies lesson. Consequently, both groups were comprised of pupils with similar performance. The pupils were then allocated either to the test group ?Tuncbilek I.Ö.O.? or to the control group ?Tavsanli Milli Egemenlik I.Ö.O.At the beginning of the application a multiple-choice test of 25 questions referring to the subject ?My sweet home? of the life studies lesson were presented to both groups. According to the result of this pre-test, the performance of the pupils in the test and control group was not significantly different.With beginning of December 2009, in a period of 10 weeks, each topic of the lesson in the test group was visualized by cartoons. This visualization was applied 5 hours per week. Each topic was introduced with a selected cartoon which was seen as a contributor to pupil?s learning process. During the lesson, at least one time, a reference was made to the cartoon selected in the beginning of the course. Finally, the summary of the lesson was again based on this cartoon.In turn, the teacher of the control group structured the lesson without using cartoons. After the above stated period, both group had to answer the 25 questions from the pre-test again. The results were then processed and analyzed with the statistic software programme SPSS 11.00 by applying the two-sided variance analysis. According to the analysis, the overall performance of the two groups were statistically significant different.
