T In this work the integrability of non-linear partial differential equations are studied in (1+1) dimension. There are various methods to show the integrability of the non-linear partial differantial equations. These methods are investigated for integrability of KdV (Korteweg de Vries), mKdV (modified Korteweg-de Vries), nonlineer Schrödinger equation and Sine-Gordon equations. An introduction to abelian and non-abelian gauge theories is given. There exists a relationship between slf-duality condition of Yang-Mills gauge theory and the integrability condition in (l+l)-dimension. Shown that self-dual Yang-Mills (SDYM) equations can be derived from the integrability condition of two lineer equations. AKNS type equations equations are induced by making dimensional reduction in SDYM equations. KdV and nonlinear Schrödinger equations are obtained from SDYM equations as an example.en_US
