Abstract
In recent years the technologies, which are developed in order to improve the properties of polymer materials have been used almost in every field. The factors, given properties to polymer, are that low cost in production, easily processing, light, resistivity against chemical materials, insulator and unlimited for changing its properties etc. Mechanical and deformational properties of polimer are lower than metals; however these properties of plastics are improved by new methods. These methods are that doped of additive materials to polymers, changing of crystallinity degree, molecular orientation, formation of network structure with crosslinks. Under external effects, deformation of polymeric materials, improved properties by these methods, has been realized for a longer time. Consequently, using plastics materials has been increased from day to day in industry. In polymer industry, since producing of new polymers with high quality is limited, it is very important for polymer science to investigate the molecular mechanism of physical and chemical events occurred in polymers to improve the properties of commercial polymers used in production of polymer pipes and cables and to prevent wearing out of the materials fabricated from classic polymers depending on the using conditions. The introduction section in this thesis, information about the structure of polymer and degradation mechanism, and also the second section in this thesis thermofluctuation theory and experimental machines are given in detail. The other sections in this thesis, dynamic-mechanical and electrical properties of peroxide crosslinking low density polyethylene (XLPE) materials, and glass fiber reinforced high-density polyethylene (HDPE) composite, used in production of plastic pipes and cables, was investigated.Recently, research in this area has been increased ro improve mechanical and elektrical strength of polymers. The results of this research can be applied to the industrial area of the production proceses pipes and electrical cables.
