12. sınıfta okutulan çağdaş Türk ve dünya tarihi dersinin kazanımlarının gerçekleşme seviyesine ilişkin öğretmen ve öğrenci görüşlerinin değerlendirilmesi

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı, liselerde 12. sınıfta okutulan, 20. yüzyılın başlarından günümüze kadar dünyada ve Türkiye'de yaşanan gelişmeleri anlatan Çağdaş Türk ve Dünya Tarihi dersinin hedeflerinin gerçekleşme düzeyine ilişkin öğretmen ve öğrenci görüşleri alınarak bu görüşler doğrultusunda; müfredatın eksikliklerini tespit etmek, müfredata yeni açılımlar kazandırabilmek ve bu dersin öğretmenler tarafından sınıflarda daha verimli bir şekilde işlenmesine katkıda bulunmaktır.Çağdaş Türk ve Dünya Tarihi dersi ile ilgili var olan durumu inceleyen bu tez betimsel araştırma yöntemine uygun olarak yapılandırılmıştır. Betimsel yöntem genellikle bir durumu açıklamak, değerlendirmek ve olaylar arasındaki ilişkileri saptamak amacıyla uygulanır. Mevcut durum nedir, hangi yöne gitmeliyiz sorularına cevap arar. Bu araştırmada betimsel yöntem kullanılmasının nedenleri; mevcut koşulları ortaya koymak, problemi tespit etmek, konuyu açıkça ortaya koymak ve araştırmayı doğal şartları bozulmadan yapabilmektir.Bu araştırmanın evrenini; Ankara il sınırlarındaki liselerde okuyan 12. sınıf öğrencileri ve bu öğrencilerin öğretmenleri oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın örneklemini; Ankara ilinin Etimesgut, Keçiören ve Sincan ilçelerinde bulunan Etimesgut Lisesi, Aktepe Lisesi, Fatih Sultan Mehmet Lisesi, Kalaba Lisesi, Keçiören Lisesi, İbni Sina Lisesi, Sincan Süleyman Demirel Anadolu Lisesi, Sincan Fatih Anadolu Liselerinde 12. sınıfta okuyan toplam 303 öğrenci ile bu öğrencilere Çağdaş Türk ve Dünya Tarihi dersini veren 38 öğretmen oluşturmaktadır.Veri toplama aracı öğretmen ve öğrenciler için ayrı ayrı üç bölümden oluşmaktadır. Araştırmada konu ve amaca bağlı olarak anket ve mülakat kullanılmıştır. Birinci bölümde; öğretmen ve öğrencilerin kişisel bilgilerini belirlemeye yönelik sorular yer almaktadır. İkinci bölümde Çağdaş Türk ve Dünya Tarihi dersinin hedeflerinin gerçekleşmesine ilişkin dersi okutan tarih öğretmenlerinin ve bu dersi alan öğrencilerin görüşlerini öğrenmek amacıyla 26 maddeden oluşan bir anket formu bulunmaktadır. 5'li likert tipi ölçeğin kullanıldığı bu bölümde her maddeye verilecek cevap kodları 1,00 ile 5,00 arasında değişmektedir. Üçüncü bölümde; bu dersin hedeflerinin gerçekleşmesine ilişkin programda yer alan kazanımların, elde edilip edilemediğine dair durumu öğrenmek amacıyla bir de mülakat formu, veri toplama aracı olarak kullanılmıştır.Bu araştırmada verilerin analizi bilgisayara yardımı ile istatistik biliminin genel esasları çerçevesinde yapılmıştır. Araştırmaya katılan öğrenci ve öğretmenlerin frekans dağılımları, yüzdelik hesaplamaları ile t-testi ve varyans analizleri yapılmıştır.Elde edilen bulgulara göre; 12. sınıflarda okutulmaya başlanılan Çağdaş Türk ve Dünya Tarihi dersini olumlu değerlendiren öğretmenler öğrencinin ilgisini çekeceğini düşündükleri konuların programda bulunmasının uygun olacağını belirtmişlerdir. Ancak araştırma sonucunda Çağdaş Türk ve Dünya Tarihi dersinin hedeflerinin gerçekleşme seviyesine ilişkin öğretmenlerin tutumları ile öğrencilerin tutumlarının birebir aynı olmadığı görülmüştür. Tarih ders müfredatı, ders kitapları, ders saatlerinin azlığı, derslerde kullanılan metot ve teknikler, ders araç gereçlerinin yetersizliğinden kaynaklanan problemler, öğretmen ve öğrenciler tarafından katılım gören problemler olarak tespit edilmiştir.

This research aims to introduce the views of the teachers and students as for the level of goal realization of the `Modern Turkey and World History? lesson dealing with the developments in the world and Turkey from the beginning of the 20th century till now, taught at the 12th form, and in the framework of these views to define the disadvantages of the curriculum, to provide a curriculum with new extensions and to contribute to the effectiveness of the lesson.This paper which conciders the situation with the lesson of the `Modern Turkey and World History? was written in accordance with the descriptive research method. Descriptive method is usually applied to define and to evaluate the situation and to define the relations among the events. It searches for the answers to the questions such as what the situation is, which way we should go. The reason of applying of the descriptive method in this paper is to introduce the present conditions, to define the problem, to outline the situation and to conduct the research without violating the natural conditions.The frame of the report consists of the 12th grade students studying at the high schools in the district of Ankara and the teachers of the students. The sampling part of the report consists of 303 students of the 12th grade studying at Etimesgut Lisesi, Aktepe Lisesi, Fatih Sultan Mehmet Lisesi, Kalaba Lisesi, Keçiören Lisesi, İbni Sina Lisesi, Sincan Süleyman Demirel Anadolu Lisesi, Sincan Fatih Anadolu Lisesi situated in the district of Ankara and 38 teachers of the `Modern Turkey and World History? lesson.The data collection consists of three parts conducted separately for the teachers and the students. The questionnaire and interviewing was applied in accordance with the subject and the goal. In the first part questions to determine the personal data of the teachers and students are introduced. The second part is a 26-item questionnaire which aims at determining the teachers? and students? attitudes on the matter of the goal realization of the `Modern Turkey and World History? lesson. Five-stepped Likert-type scale was used in this section and the responses are scaled between 1,00 and 5,00. In the third part an interviewing form to determine the level of the attained goals put in the curriculum is introduced.The data analysis in this paper was conducted with a help of the computer and in the framework of the general basis of statistics. The percentage calculation of the number of students and teachers was made.According to the obtained results teachers, which evaluated positively the `Modern Turkish and World History? lesson, stated that the presence of the subjects intended to take the students? attention will be appropriate to the curriculum. In spite of this it was determined that the teachers? and the students? attitudes on the matter of the level of goal realization of the `Modern Turkey and World History? lesson were different.The problems such as the programme of the history lesson, history lesson books, the shortage of lesson hours, the methods and techniques applied during the lessons, the problems connected with the insufficiency of the lesson material, attendance problems on the part of both teachers and students were determined.
