Türkiye`deki güzel sanatlar fakültelerine özel yetenek sınavı ile yerleştirilen öğrencilerle merkezi sınav sistemi ile yerleştirilen öğrencilerin başarı durumları

Abstract

Araştırmada Türkiye'deki Güzel Sanatlar Fakültelerine Özel Yetenek Sınavı ve Merkezi Sınav Sistemi ile yerleştirilen lisans düzeyindeki öğrencilerin başarı durumlarında anlamlı bir fark var mıdır? sorusunun cevabına ulaşmak amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmanın evrenini; Türkiye'deki Görsel İletişim Tasarımı Bölümleri öğretim elemanları ve ikinci sınıf öğrencileri oluşturmaktadır. Örneklemi ise, Gazi Üniversitesi Güzel Sanatlar Fakültesi Görsel İletişim Tasarımı Bölümü ikinci sınıf öğrencileri oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın verileri örneklemde yer alan Özel Yetenek Sınavı ve Merkezi Sınav ile alınan öğrencilerin YGS puanları, Sanat Tarihi ve Desen Ders notları karşılaştırılarak elde edilmiştir. Bu karşılaştırmalar, Türkiye'deki Görsel İletişim Tasarımı Bölümlerindeki öğretim elemanlarına yapılan anket verilerinden elde edilen görüşler ile desteklenerek yorumlanmıştır. Araştırmada tarama modeli benimsenerek nitel ve nicel yöntem birlikte kullanılmıştır. Nitel yöntemde öğrenciler fakülteye alınma şekillerine göre gruplandırılarak kontrollü deney yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın nicel boyutunda ise; Özel Yetenek Sınavı ve Merkezi Sınav Sistemi ile yerleştirilen öğrencilerin mevcut durumları ile ilgili öğretim elemanı görüşlerinin belirlenmesi amacı kapsamında, Türkiye'deki Güzel Sanatlar Fakülteleri Görsel İletişim Tasarımı Bölüm öğretim elemanlarına anket uygulanmıştır. Araştırmada yüzde (%), frekans (f), t-testi ve betimsel analiz ve içerik analizleri kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda Merkezi Sınav Sistemi ile alınan öğrencilerin `YGS puan`larının Yetenek Sınavı ile alınan öğrencilere oranla daha yüksek olduğu görüşmüştür. Buna karşılık `Desen Ders` başarı notu karşılaştırmasında Yetenek Sınavı ile alınan öğrencilerin becerilerinin daha yüksek olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır. `Sanat Tarihi Ders` başarı notlarının karşılaştırılmasında ise anlamlı bir fark olmazken öğretim elemanı anketlerinde belirtilen 13 kriterden yalnızca teorik dersler ile ilgili iki kriterde ( Teorik derslerdeki başarı ve Teorik derslerdeki sınıf içi uyumu/katılımı) Merkezi Sınav Sistemi ile alınan öğrenciler başarılı geri kalan 11 kriterde Yetenek Sınavı ile alınan öğrenciler daha başarılı bulunmuştur. Bu bağlam ile araştırma sonucunda; Güzel Sanatlar Fakültelerinin misyon ve vizyonuna uygun bir eğitim anlayışı içerisinde olmasını sağlayabilecek öğrenci alım şeklinin Özel Yetenek Sınavları olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

In the study, it is aimed to reply the question `is there a significant difference between success statuses of students at license level, who attended the Faculties of Fine Arts in Turkey by Special Talent Exam and who attended by Centralized Exam System`. Population of the study consists of academicians and sophomores of Visual Communication Design Departments in Turkey. Its sample consists of sophomores of Gazi University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Visual Communication Design Department. Datas of the Study were compared and got YGS (The transition to higher education examination) points and Art History and Design Class grades of students included in the sample who attended by Special Talent Exam and by Centralized Exam. These comparisons were supported and interpreted by opinions which were obtained by questionnaire data made to academicians in Visual Communication Design Departments in Turkey. The study, survey method was adopted and qualitative and quantitative methods were used together. In the qualitative method, students were grouped according to their admission to faculty and controlled experiment was performed. And in the quantitative aspect of the study; within the scope of determining the opinions of academicians regarding the current statuses of students who attended by Special Talent Exam and Centralized Exam System, a questionnaire was applied to academicians of Visual Communication Design Departments of Faculty of Fine Arts in Turkey. In the study; percentage (%), frequency (f), t-test, descriptive analysis and content analyses were used. At the end of the study, it was observed that `YGS points` of students who attended by Centralized Exam System was higher than that of the students who attended by Special talent exam. On the other hand, it was revealed that skills of students who attended by Talent Exam was higher in comparison of `Design Class` grades. As there was no significant difference in comparison of `Art History Class` grades, only in two criteria (Success in theoretical lectures and In-class adaptation / participation in theoretical lectures) regarding theoretical lessons were the students who attended by Centralized Exam System found successful whereas students attended by Talent Exam were more successful in the remaining 11 criteria. With that context, it was concluded that the method of student admission which might provide Faculty of Fine Arts to be in a suitable sense of education with their mission and vision was Special Talent Exams.
