This work concerns coagulation-flocculation processesinvolving various chemicals and the determination of efficienciesfor the treatment of wastewater streams resultingfrom the activities of textile industry. In this study the performance of three differentcoagulants were examined using Jar Tests. The coagulants wereFeC1 3 , FeS0 4 , and A1 2 (S04)3. The wastewater used was obtainedfrom a textile mill. Optimum dosage for FeC13, FeS04 and A12 (S04)3 were 700, 500, and 1500 mg/l respectively for maximumBOD, COD and suspended solids removal. BOD removal efficiencieswere found to be 72 %, 67 % and 33 % respectively for FeC13,A1 2 (S04)3' and FeS04 • COD and suspended solids removal effici~encies followed a similar trend. It was concluded that undergiven operating conditions FeC1 3 , and A12(S04)3 were suitable coagulants for the specific textile waste.en_US
