dc.description.abstractIn this study the interrelation between the leachate and the eluatesobtained by different methods is determined. The eluate methods were SL TTest, IUCS Modified 48 hours Shake Test, Minnesota Test which wererecommended by US Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) and the01N38414-S4 Test which was recommended by European Community init' s `Draft Regulation for Sanitary Landfilling`. For this purpose tworeactors representing the sanitary landfill conditions were used for theproduction of leachate. Recirculation is applied to the both reactors and therainwater is let in. The samples which were taken from the both reactors ateach time of recirculation and eluates which were obtained by four differentmethods were analyzed for BOD, COD, pH and eleven metal and inorganicelements such as Ca, Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, Mg, Mn, Ni, Pb, Zn. Then, thedata collected about the characteristics of leachate and eluate arecompared with each other and the eluate test that have closer results withthe average leachate characteristics are determined.Keywords: Leachate, eluate, recirculation, BOD, COOen_US
