Abstract
In this thesis, it is aimed to develop optically based sensors by preparing gold nanoparticles modified with carbon nanoparticles for the determination of Hg + 2. It is very important that Hg + 2 is fast, selective, sensitive and cheap. For this reason, the use of gold nanoparticles, which are quite simple to prepare within the scope of the thesis work, has been applied. The prepared gold nanoparticles were modified with carbon nanoparticles to provide selectivity and sensitivity. The conjugates thus obtained enable a rapid and simple determination of Hg + 2 both selectively and sensitively. The gold and carbon nanoparticle ratios to be used in the study were determined and optimized ratios determined by all other experiments including selectivity. TEM, XPS, XRD, UV, FTIR values were used for characterization of the prepared particles and conjugat. In addition, the sustainability of the prepared sensor system has been tested with real examples. The selectivity of the sensor system has been tested in the presence of competitor molecules at two different concentrations.
