Abstract
Fenol atık sularda bulunan organik kirleticilerden biridir. Phenol is one of the organic pollutants in the wastewater. In this research, it is purposed to reach a complete photocatalytic degredation of phenol in short term or synthesize active catalysts to obtain less harmful compounds under visible light. For this purpose, firstly pure triclinic FeVO4 catalysts were synthesized by facile hydrothermal method. To enhance photocatalytic activity, the surfactants (HTAB, PEG, SDS) doped FeVO4 catalysts were prepared. During catalyst preparation stage, the synthesis method of oxide catalyst, pH of the solution, reaction time and temperature were considered as variables. Additionally, some other parameters, such as light source and amount of H2O2 were considered in terms of reaction kinetics. The optical and structural properties of the catalysts were determined by BET, XRD, FTIR, DRS, SEM techniques. The concentrations of photocatalytic degradation were analyzed in high pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC) and gas chromatography-mass spectroscopy (GC-MS) and the degradation reaction rates were calculated and the activities of catalysts were compared. The result of the activity tests under natural daylight, 100% phenol degradation was obtained in 45 minutes by FeVO4(3-75)-HTAB catalyst.
