Abstract
ABSTRACT Masters Thesis THE EFFECTS OF COLLECTON TIME, FREQUENCY and HEAT ON THE AMOUNT OF CRACKED and BROKEN EGGS OF BROWN LAYERS İN CAGE Mahmut Durmuş Harran University Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences Dept. Animal Sci. 1995, 30 page This study was conducted in order to investigate the effecst of egg collection time and frequency on the amount of cracked and broken egg in caged layers. The effecst of three different time and number collections (I. 5 times/day; II. 4 times/day; III 3 times/day) on the amount of cracked and broken eggs were investigated in apartmant type cages. This experiment was carried out an 42 week old Iso Brown hybrid layers in triple deck cages and in producer conditions. Approximately, 34 %, 24 %, 8%, 7% and 26% of mean daily egg production was laid between 8.00-10.00 am, 10.00-12.00 am, 12.00-14.00 pm, 14.00-16.00 pm, 16.00- 8.00 am respectively. Differences among the results were statistical significantly (P <0.05). The evaluation of data indicated the following results in relation to decreasing cracked and broken eggs. The best results with respect to the time and frequency of egg collection were obtained with the I. treatment, followed by the II. and III. treatments. The production period was divided as 10-15 °C, 15-20 °C and 20-25 °C to determined the effects on cracked and broken eggs of heat in die house, and broken and cracked egg was determined 1 1.59 %, 12.03 % and 12.25 % respectively. Keyword: Egg production, broken and cracked eggs, collection time, collection number, heat, cage.
