Life distribution classifications of increasing markov processes

Abstract

iv ÖZET Bu çalışmanın amacı artan ve düzenli Markof süreçlerinin ömür sürelerinin sınıflandırmalarını yapmaktır. Bunu yaparken şoklara maruz kalan bir cihaz göz önüne alınmıştır. Gelen her şok cihazda biriken hasarı at ırmakta, -fakat şoklar arasında hasar seviyesi sabit kalmaktadır. Cihazdaki hasar seviyesi, artan bir Markof süreci ile temsil edilmiş ve cihazın ömrü, hasar seviyesinin cihazın eşik seviyesini ilk geçiş süresi olarak tanımlanmıştır. Sınıflandırma işlemi hem ayrık hem de sürekli zaman Markof süreçleri için yapılmış ve bunların arasındaki ilişki belirtilmiştir. Sınıflandırmayı yaparken, Markof süreçlerinin hangi şartlar altında IFR, IFRA, NBU ve NBUE sınıflarına girecekleri saptanmıştır.

Ill ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is to make a classification of life distributions for increasing Markov processes. A single component device subjected to shocks is considered. The accumulated damage increases whenever a shock occurs and stays constant between shocks. The damage level of the device is represented by an increasing regular Markov process, and the lifetime is defined to be the first passage time to the states beyond the threshold level of the device. The problem has been studied for both discrete and continuous time cases. Conditions on the Markov process are obtained for which the life distribution of the device is IFR, IFRA, NBU, and NBUE.
