dc.description.abstractSuccesful control of directing antennas is a major necessityfor a good and reliable space communication. The solutionof the problem for a s~mplified linear model is available.In practice, problems arising from nonlinearities,are usually sol ved using technical means In our thesisafter a brief survey on satellite tracking, we will developa nonlinear model and try to control it using the methodsof discrete state space. Problems like the minimizat.ion 0fthe overshoot, minimization of the error resulting from disturbancesand steady-state response will be investigated.Then, we will build a more complicated, coupled model andhandle the same problems with this latter. The results willbe compared and discussed. The behaviour of the antenna willbe given by a simulation program and its outputs. wilL be:displayed by means of a graphic plotter.en_US
