Identification of elastic module of an orthotropic plate

Abstract

ÖZET ORTOTROPIK PLAKLARIN ELASTİK MODÜLLERİNİN BELİRLENMESİ İnce ortotropik plakların malzeme sabitleri ters (inverse) analiz yöntemi ile belirlenmiştir. Sayısal ve deneysel kısımlardan oluşan hibrid bir prosedür kullanılmıştır. Ankastre ince homojen ortotropik plak bükme problemi, sonlu farklar ve sonlu elemanlar yöntemleri ile çözülerek, deformasyonları, yükleri ve ortotropik elastik modülleri içeren denklemler elde edilmiştir. Daha sonra, elastik modülleri bilinmeyen ortotropik ince bir plak noktasal olarak yüklenmiş, deformasyon ve yükleme deneysel olarak ölçülmüştür. Deneysel ölçümler ile sonlu farklar ve sonlu elemanlar yöntemlerinden elde edilen denklemler birlikte kullanılarak bilinmeyen elastik modüller belirlenmiştir. Bulunan sonuçlar standart mekanik test sonuçları ile karşılaştırılmıştır.

ABSTRACT IDENTIFICATION OF ELASTIC MODULI OF AN ORTHOTROPIC PLATE Unknown material constants of a thin orthotropic plate are identified by using an inverse analysis. A hybrid procedure consisting of numerical and experimental parts is used. First a cantilevered thin homogeneous orthotropic plate bending problem is solved by using finite differences and finite elements to obtain equations that contain deformation data, loading and orthotropic elastic moduli. Then, the deformation and the loading of the thin orthotropic plate with unknown elastic moduli subjected to point loading are experimentally measured. The experimental measurements and the equations obtained from finite difference or finite element solution are combined to determine the unknown elastic moduli. The results calculated are compared to results obtained from standard mechanical tests.
