Fonksiyonel kökenli sınıf III ortodontik düzensizliklerin Balters'in tip III bionatoru ile tedavilerinden elde edilen sonuçların değerlendirilmesi

Abstract

ÖZET Bu araştırmada fonksiyonel kökenli sınıf III ortodontik düzensizliklerin Balters'in tip III bionatoru ile tedavilerinden elde edilen sonuçların değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. 40 birey üzerinde gerçekleştirilen araştırmada, olgular fonksiyonel sınıf III ortodontik düzensizliğe sahip hastalar arasından seçilmiştir. Bu bireylerin 10'u Balters'in sınıf III bionatoru ile tedavi edilmiştir. Tedavi edilmemiş 10 birey ise kontrol grubu olarak incelenmiştir. Tedavi ve kontrol dönemlerinde meydana gelen değişikliklerin incelenmesi amacıyla, bireylerden bu dönemlerin başında ve sonunda alınan uzak röntgen resimleri üzerinde sefalometrik analiz yapılmış, 10 açısal ve 16 boyutsal olmak üzere toplam 26 parametre ölçülmüştür. Açısal ve boyutsal ölçümlere ait verilerin bioistatistiksel değerlendirilmeleri yapılmıştır. Elde edilen sonuçlar; Balters'in sınıf III bionatorunun temelde dentoalveolar yapılar üzerine etkili olsa da, aynı zamanda iskeletsel etkilerinin de bulunduğunu göstermiştir. 54

SUMMARY The aim of this study is the evaluation of treatment results of the functional class III cases which were treated with the Baiter's type III Bionator. Investigation has been carried out on 40 patients who had functional Class III malocclusion. 10 of these have been treated with Baiter's type III Bionator.On the other hand, the other group consisting of 10 individuals who hadn't been treated before, has been chosen as the control group. Cefhalometric films were taken at the beginning and end of the treatment and control periods, in order to evaluate the changes during the investigation period. Cefhalometric analyses were carried out and a total of 26 parameters were measured; 10 of them were angular and 16 of them were dimensional. Statistical evaluation of the data which consist of angular and dimensional measurements has been realised. The results demonstrated that Baiters' type III Bionator basically effects the dentoalveolar structures, additionally has skeletal effects too. 55
