Türk-İtalyan ilişkilerinde Menteşe Adaları (1923-1947)

Abstract

Tarih ile coğrafya arasında tözsel bir ilişki olduğu yadsınamayacak bir gerçektir. Bir diğer gerçek ise jeopoliitğin tarihin yorumlanmasında işlevsel olduğudur. Özellikle coğrafya, uluslararası ilişkilerin ve tarihin araştırma nesnesi olduğunda bu gerçek daha da belirgin olabilmektedir. Bu açıdan Menteşe Adaları'nın Türk-İtalyan ilişkileri bağlamında jeopolitik açıdan yorumlanması soyut gerçekliğin somuta indirgenmesi çabasını teşkil edecektir.

It is an undeniable fact that there ise a substantional relation between history and geography. Another fact that the geopolitics is functional in interpretation of history. Especially, this fact may be obvious when geography is a research object of history and international relations. In this respect, a geopolitical interpretation of Menteşe Islands in the context of Turkish-Italian relatios will constitute the reduction effort of abtract reality to concrete.
