Parion su yolları (Temin-dağıtım-tahliye)

Abstract

Parion, MÖ 709 yılında Propontis'in Anadolu kıyısında kurulumuş bir antik kenttir. Antik kent günümüzde Çanakkale İli, Biga İlçesi, Kemer Köyü sınırları içinde yer almaktadır. Kuruluşundan itibaren en önemli doğal ihtiyaç olan su ihtiyacının karşılanmasında dönemlere göre farklılıklar gözlemlenmektedir. Bu farklılıklar dönemin teknolojisi ve imkanları dahilinde ortaya çıkmaktadır.Parion'un günümüze ulaşmış olan su yolları hakkındaki en önemli kalıntı, Kemer Köyü girişinde bulunan ve köye adını veren su kemeridir. Köyün girişinde bir anıt niteliği taşıyan ve köyün ayırt edici bir unsuru olan su kemeri kalıntıları, antik Parion'un su ihtiyacını karşılama konusundaki gayretlerini göstermektedir. Yaşamın en önemli ihtiyacı olan suyun temini, dağıtımı ve tahliyesi konularında günümüze ulaşan ve 2005 yılından beri sürdürülen kazı çalışmaları sonucunda ortaya çıkarılmış ve belgelenmiş olan su yolları ve ilişkili diğer materyal bulgular bu çalışmanın konusunu oluşturmaktadır.

Parion, is an ancient city which was founded in 709 BC on the Anatolian shores of the Propontis. The ancient city is today located within the borders of Çanakkale Province, in Kemer Village, Biga Municipality. Since the founding of the city for the satisfying the vital need of water differences are observed according to the ages. These differences were developed according to the technology and possibilities of the ages.Among the ruins regarding the aqueducts of the ancient city, the most significant is the aqueduct bridge located at the entrance of the village and from which the village derived its name. Being somewhat a monument at the entrance and also an unique feature of the village, reveals the enthusiasm of the Parion people for their need of water. The scope of this work is the documented currently standing features as well as the aqueducts and other related material finds revealed throughout the excavations which have been carried out since 2005, in the regards of the supply, distribution and discharge of the most vital need of water.
