Kars Müzesinde bulunan tarihi banknot paralar

Abstract

Kars Müzesi, bünyesinde bulundurduğu geniş envanteri ile Kars'ın kadim geçmişi hakkında engin bilgiler vermektedir. Kültürlerin kavşak noktasında olması ve jeostratejik konumu ile tarihte birçok topluma ev sahipliği yapan Kars, 19. yüzyıl ve 20. yüzyılın ilk çeyreğinde farklı devletlerin göz diktiği topraklar olmuştur. Dolayısıyla Kars çeşitli savaşlara tanıklık etmiş tarihi kentlerden biridir. Özellikle 1877-1878 Osmanlı-Rus Savaşı'ndan I. Dünya Savaşı'na kadar geçen sürede Kars toprakları Rus işgaline maruz kalmıştır. Söz konusu dönemlerde yaşanan savaşlar sonrasında, Kars Müzesi bu tarihe ışık tutan geniş bir sergiye sahip olmuştur. Bu durumun sonucunda Kars Müzesi, envanterine kayıtlı çeşitli dönemlere ait arkeolojik ve etnografik eserler barındırmaktadır. Müzeden alınan izinler neticesinde 2020 yılında yukarıda bahse konu dönemlere ait 40 adet kâğıt para tespit edilmiştir. Bu bağlamda `Kars Müzesi'nde Bulunan Tarihi Banknot Paralar` tez konusu olarak belirlenmiştir. Tez konusu kapsamında belirlenen banknot paraların envanter bilgileri üzerinde çalışılmış, banknotlar farklı açılardan ele alınarak değerlendirilmiştir. Yapılan çalışmada, banknot paraların genellikle savaş ve ekonomik kriz dönemlerinde tedavüle çıkarıldığı sonucuna varılmıştır. Ayrıca banknotların, ait olduğu devletin arması ve devlet lideri veya önemli kişilerin portrelerini üzerinde taşıyan, ülke bağımsızlığını ve gücünü sembolize eden, resmî belge niteliğinde oldukları görülmüştür. Banknot para konusu yükseköğretim kurumlarının lisansüstü programlarında öğrenim gören sanat tarihi öğrencileri tarafından daha önce tez olarak çalışılmamış bir konudur. Tez konumuz belirtilen dönemle ve banknotlarla ilgili Kars Müzesi'nde yapılan ilk çalışma olması bakımından önemlidir. Anahtar Kelimeler :Kars, Kars Müzesi, Banknot, Manat, Ruble, Mark, Lira.

Kars Museum provides extensive information about the ancient past of Kars with its extensive inventory. Being at the crossroads of cultures and hosting many societies in history with its geostrategic location, Kars has been the land that various states coveted in the 19th century and the first quarter of the 20th century. Therefore, Kars is one of the historical cities that witnessed various wars. Especially in the period from the Ottoman-Russian War of 1877-1878 to the First World War, the lands of Kars were subjected to Russian occupation. After the wars during this period, Kars Museum has had an extensive exhibition shedding light on this date. Today, the inventory of the Kars Museum contains archaeological and ethnographic artifacts from different periods. As a result of the permits received from the museum, in 2020, 40 paper money was identified relating to the aforementioned periods. In this context, `Historical banknotes in the Kars Museum` was defined as the topic of the thesis. First of all, the inventory information of banknotes identified in the framework of the dissertation was studied, afterwards, the banknotes were evaluated from different perspectives. As a result of the study, it was concluded that banknotes were mainly introduced into circulation during periods of war and economic crisis. In addition, it has been seen that banknotes are official documents that symbolize the independence and power of the country, carrying the coat of arms of the state they belong to and the portraits of the state leader or important people. Banknote is a subject that has not previously been studied as a dissertation by art history students studying in postgraduate programs of higher education institution. The topic of our dissertation is important in that this is the first study carried out in the Kars Museum, dedicated to the mentioned period and banknotes.Key Words:Kars, Kars Museum, Banknote, Manat, Rouble, Mark, Lira.
