Abstract
138 SUMMARY It is aimed mainly in this thesis made ready in the branch of Hadith science that to produce Kemaleddin İbnü'1-Hümam's position in the Hadith science, and his method. However the well-known Hanefî jurist Ibnii'l- Hiimam, originally come from Sivas, but he was born in h. 790 (m. 1388) in Ğgypt and trained and died in 861/1467 there too. In spite of Ibnü'1-Hümam more excessive being recognized as a jurist (fakîh) and theologian (mütekellim) his knowledge in the Hadith field isn't less than his knowledge in these two sciences that was mentioned before. His formation in Hadith science is seen apparently in his famous book `Fethu'l- Kadîr` that commentary of `el-Hidaye`. While he deals with juridical subjects in this commentary, he mentioned a lot of hadith and criticized these hadiths in respect of text (metin) and chains of reporter (sened). Besides He is a non- fanatic and free thinker scholar in his sect (Hanefi). For this he occasionally criticized his own sect's proofs too. Ibnü'1-Hü mam's knowledge in Hadith sciences is in very advanced stage. In addition to that He is a traditionalist (muhaddis) aware of Hadith literature completely. Ibnü'1-Hümam called attention to principles of `completeness of Qur'an and Sunnah` and `completeness of Sunnah in its own`. He determined some principles to conciliate hadiths that appear like contradctory. We believe that his contributions is guider for us today.
