Abstract

86 SUMMARY Our study was The yearbooks of Aydın Province in end of XIX. century and beginning of XX. century. This studying show as that these yearbooks include important information about Aydın province, for example, culture, economic structure, population, agriculture, education, administration, transportation, history etc. of Aydın Province. By this study, we want to help people who need information about this period of history of Aydın Province. So we collected 8 yearbooks of Aydın Province dated 1889, 1891, 1895, 1898, 1899, 1905 and 1908. (Totally, Aydın Province has 25 yearbooks). And then, we have transcripted 8 yearbooks and selected some information which more important about Aydın Province. By the way, we compered information's which in these 8 yearbooks. We haven't studied unchangeable knowledge of Aydın Province for example: Mounts, forests, hot springs, rivers etc. Because, these knowledge continuing today. Especially we studied changeable knowledge to compare them today. Aydın was the name of a vilâyet (contains 5 province of Aydın, İzmir, Saruhan, Menteşe and Denizli) too. But we limited our study by only Aydın province. In that time, Aydın had 5 districts which named Bozdoğan, Çine, Karacasu, Nazilli and Söke. These districts are being still today. We've seen that Yearbooks of Ottoman Empire affected yearbooks of Republic of Turkey (By model and by information's). We hope that this study will be useful for people who related Aydın.
