Öğretmen ve yöneticilere göre etkili bir sınıf öğretmeninde bulunması gereken özellikler (Diyarbakır İl Örneği)

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın temel amacı, ilkokul öğretmenleri ve yöneticilerin görüşlerine göre etkili bir sınıf öğretmeninde bulunması gereken özelliklerin neler olduğunu belirlemektir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu, 2013-2014 eğitim-öğretim yılında Diyarbakır'ın Bismil İlçesinde ilkokullarda görev yapan 32 sınıf öğretmeni ve 16 okul yöneticisi oluşturmaktadır. Bu araştırmada nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden görüşme yöntemiyle yapılmıştır. Araştırma verilerinin toplanması amacıyla 6 maddelik yarı yapılandırılmış bir görüşme formu kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen veriler betimsel analizine tabi tutularak yorumlanmıştır. Araştırmanın bulgulara göre öğretmenlerin vizyon geliştirme, çeşitli öğretim yöntem ve tekniği kullanma, etkin dinleme, model olma rehberlik etme, uygun sınıf atmosferi ve ortamı oluşturma, uyarı ve eleştirilerde olumlu cümleler kullanma, öğrencilerin saygılı dürüst ve ahlaklı olmasına önem verme ve problemleriyle ilgilenme, ihtiyaçlarını bilme, öğrencileri karar alma sürecine katma ve onlara sıcakkanlı ve adil davranma konularında oldukça önemli niteliklere sahip oldukları tespit edilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda elde edilen bulgulara dayalı olarak öğretmenlerin ve yöneticilerin görüşlerine göre öğretmenlerde bulunması gereken özellikler hakkında görüş ve öneriler sunulmuştur.

The main purpose of this study is to determine what are the qualifications that effective classroom teachers are supposed to have according to elementary school teachers' and directors' point of view. The sample of the research consists of 40 school administrators and 229 teachers from 11 primary Education Institutions in Bismil, Diyarbakır in 2013-2014 academic years. The sample of this study was formed by the 32 class teachers and 16 school directors living in Bismil, Diyarbakır. On the purpose of collecting research data, a six-item semi-structured interview form was used. The collected data was interpreted by being subjected to descriptive analysis. According to research findings, it was retained that teachers have highly important qualifications in the points of visioning, using various teaching methods and techniques, taking someone as a model, guiding, creating quality classroom atmosphere and environment, using qualified sentences when giving suggestions and complaints, placing importance on making students honest and respectful and dealing with their problems; finding out their needs, making them active in resolution process, being friendly and treating them fairly. With regard to the findings collected as a result of research, some opinions and suggestions were submitted about the qualifications that teachers are supposed to have according to teachers' and directors' perceptions.
