Anadili eğitim dilinden farklı olan öğrencilerin karşılaştıkları sorunlara ilişkin bir araştırma

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı, anadili eğitim dilinden farklı olan öğrencilerin öğretmenlerinin görüşlerine göre karşılaştıkları sorunların araştırılmasıdır. Çalışma tarama modelinde nitel bir çalışmadır. Araştırmanın evreni; 2014-2015 eğitim-öğretim yılında Mardin'in Yeşilli ilçesine bağlı 9 köy okulu ile 4 merkez ilkokulu öğretmenleridir. Çalışma grubu bu okullarda görevli 84 ilkokul öğretmeninden gönüllü olarak araştırmaya katılan 26 öğretmendir. Araştırmada çocukların karşılaştıkları sorunları saptamak amacıyla; yarı yapılandırılmış bir görüşme formu geliştirilmiştir. Görüşme formu görüşülenlerin kişisel bilgileri ve öğrencilerin dil konusunda yaşadıkları sorunlar olmak üzere iki tür soru sorulmuştur. Görüşmelerde elde edilen veriler tematik olarak çözümlenmiştir. Araştırmada, anadili eğitim dilinden farklı öğrencilerin aynı sınıfta eğitim aldıkları, dilin dört temel becerilerinde çok zayıf oldukları ayrıca öğretmenlerini anlamadıkları ve buna bağlı olarak kendilerini ifade edemediklerinden akademik başarı düzeylerinin çok düşük olduğu saptanmıştır. Bu öğrencilerin, kendi aralarında anadillerini kullandıkları, öğretmenleri ve farklı gruptan arkadaşları ile çok az iletişim kurabildikleri belirlenmiştir. Okula uyum sürecini uzattıklarını, devamsızlık yaptıklarını, okuldan kaçtıklarını ve bu sebeplerden ötürü okula yabancılaştıkları saptanmıştır. Öğretmenlerinin gözlem ve deneyimlerine göre anlamama, ifade edememe, iletişim kurmaktan kaçınma gibi temel sorunlarla karşılaştıklarına ulaşılmıştır. Sonuç olarak ülkemizde anadilde eğitim ile ilgili yapılan uygulamaların gerekli, fakat yetersiz olduklarını, bu yüzden çocukların bilişsel ve kişisel gelişimlerini yakından ilgilendiren anadilde eğitimin hayata geçirilmesi öğrencilerin sağlıklı gelişimi için önemli olduğu görülmüştür. Bunun için eğitim dili anadillerinden farklı olan öğrencilerin resmi dilde eğitim yanında anadilleri almaları konusu eğitim bilimleri alanında tartışılmalı ve Türkiye'ye uygun çözümler üretilmelidir.Anahtar Kelimeler: Tekdilli Eğitim, Sorunlar, Anadilde Eğitim, Eğitimde Çokdillilik ve Çok Kültürlülük.

The purpose of this study, the problems the students, whose native languages are different from their education language, face according to their teachers' perception have been investigated. The study is a qualitative study in scanning model. The scope of the research in 2014/2015 academic year is nine village schools in Yeşilli, a district of Mardin and four primary school teachers in the city center. Study group consists of twenty six teachers voluntarily joined the research from eighty four teachers studying in these schools. In order to determine the problems the students face, a semi structured interview form has been developed. In the interview form, two questions are asked, the first asks their personal information and the second asks the problems they face about language. The data obtained from the interview have been thematically analyzed. The findings obtained from the research can be explained like this: the students whose native languages are different from their education language have education in the same class, they have a big difficulty in the four main language skills; besides, it has been observed that because of not understanding their teachers and not expressing themselves, these students' academic success has been low. The students whose native languages are different from their education language use their native language with each other and it has been stated that they make little contact with their other friends and their teachers. It is observed that the students whose native languages are different from their education language have a long adaptation problem in school and they are absent from school or escaping from school and due to these reasons they alienate to school. It is achieved that according to their teachers' observations and experiences, the students whose native languages are different from their education language have main problems such as not understanding, not being able to express themselves and not communicating. Finally, in our country, it is seen that the practices about native language education are necessary but inadequate and so it is important to adopt native language concerning closely the students' academic and personal development for their healthy growing. For this reason, the topic about the education in the native language with the formal language fort he students who are educated in formal language has to be debated in the area of educational sciences and appropriate solutions should be produced fort his problem in Turkey.
