Bodrum ve Kuşadası`ndaki beş yıldızlı otellerde kalan turistlerin rekreasyonel sorunları

Abstract

İnsanların yoğun iş temposu ve stresli yaşantıdan bir an olsun uzaklaşmak için turizmfaaliyetlerine katılma ihtiyacı duydukları bilinmektedir. Turizm özellikle 1900'lü yıllarınortalarına kadar insanlar tarafından lüks bir faaliyet olarak görülmekteydi. Fakat teknolojikgelişme ve sosyal değişimler ile birlikte insanların hayatında birçok değişim sonunda, turizmfaaliyetlerine katılma noktasında da değişimler görülmekte olup, turizm insanlar için lüksolmaktan çıkıp, zorunlu ihtiyaç olarak yerini almaya başlamıştır.Ülkemizin, stratejik konumu, doğal güzellikleri, kültürel zenginliği, iklim şartları veher mevsimin ayrı güzellikte yaşanması tartışılmaz bir durum arz ettiği bir gerçektir.Turizm faaliyetlerine bu kadar uygun olan bir ülkede turizmin gelişmesi ve daha ilerinoktalara taşınması için, turizm faaliyetleri içinde önemli bir yer tutan rekreasyonfaaliyetlerinin de dikkate alınması gerektiği düşünülmektedir.Bir turizm cenneti olan ülkemize tatile gelen turistlerin fiziksel ve sosyal ihtiyaçlarınınbelirlenip, rekreasyonel beklentilerinin tespit edilip, sorunların çözülmesi bakımından buçalışma önemlidir.Bu amaçla; Bodrum ve Kuşadası'ndaki beş yıldızlı otellerde tatil yapan turistlerinrekreasyonel sorunlarının araştırılması amaçlanmaktadır.Araştırma 2006 turizm yaz sezonunda Kuşadası ve Bodrum bölgesindeki otellerdekalan ve araştırmamızın kapsamını oluşturan toplam 512 turist üzerinde gerçekleştirildi.Çalışmaya katılan yabancı turistlerin 353 kişi (%68,9), Türk turistlerin oranı ise 159 kişi(%31,1)' dir.Araştırmanın aracını teşkil eden 5 yıldızlı otellerde kalan yabancı ve Türk turistler ileilgili olarak durumu tespit etmek amacıyla hazırlanan durum değerlendirme formu turistlereuygulanmıştır. Durum değerlendirme formu içindeki 53 soruda likert ölçeği kullanılmıştır.Ayrıca bu çalışmada betimsel istatistiklere yer verilmiş ve 3'lü scala kullanılmıştır. VerilerSPSS paket program kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir.Araştırmaya katılan yabancı ve Türk turistlerin %51'ni erkekler, %49'nu bayanlaroluşturmaktadır. Ayrıca bu araştırmada katılımcıların çoğunluğunu %46,5 ile 31?50 yaşgrubu arası turistler oluşturmaktadır. Turistlerin ülkelere göre dağılımlarına baktığımızda iseçalışmaya katılanların %31,1'ni Türk turistler, Türk turistlerden sonra 14,5 ile Belçikalıturistler oluşturmaktadır. Burada %2 ile en az turistin Fransızlardan oluştuğu görülmektedir.Sonuç olarak; ülkemizdeki turizm bölgelerinde rekreasyonel faaliyetlerinuygulanmasında, daha profesyonelce ve sistematik bir biçimde düşünülerek adımlar atılırsa,turistlerin memnuniyeti artacak ve ülkemize bakış açıları daha olumlu olacaktır.

It is known that humans feel the need to participate in tourism activities in order to estrangethemselves from intensive business pace and stressful daily life for a moment. Tourism wasconsidered by humans as luxury activity especially till mid-1900. But in consequence of manychanges in lives of the humans as a result of technological and social changes there also changes asto participation in tourism activities have been observed and tourism no longer is a luxury and hasbecome to take its place as a requisite.There is no doubt on the fact that our country is a unique place in terms of its strategic position,natural beauties, cultural richness, climatic conditions and living the four seasons each has adifferent beauty peculiar to it.It is being considered that the recreational activities that hold an important place in tourismactivities must be taken into consideration in order to promote and carry further the tourism in such acountry that is pretty suitable for tourism activities.This study is important in order to determine physical and social needs of the tourists comingto our country, which is a tourism paradise, to determine their recreational expectations and resolvetheir problems.For this purpose, it is intended to research the recreational activities of the tourists passingtheir holidays at five-star hotels in Bodrum and Kuşadası.The research was carried out on 512 tourists in total who stayed at the hotels in the regions ofKuşadası and Bodrum during the summer tourism session of 2006. 353 foreign tourists (% 68,9)and 159 Turkish tourists (%31,1) participated in this study.The status evaluation form, that was prepared to determine the status regarding foreign andTurkish tourists staying at 5-star hotels comprising the means of the study, was applied to thetourists. Likert scale was used for 53 questions in the status evaluation form. However in this study,depictive statistics were used and triple scale was used. The data were analyzed using SPSS packageprogram.The foreign and Turkish tourists participated in the study comprised of 51 % men and 49 %women. However the most of the participants in this study were comprised of the tourists between31-50 year of age by 46.5%. When we look at the distribution of the tourists according to thecountries, 31,1% of tourists were comprised of Turkish tourists and, after Turkish tourists, 14.5% ofBelgian tourists. Here it is seen that the least of tourists were comprised of French tourists by 2%.As a result; at implementation of recreational activities in the tourism regions of our country,if steps are taken by thinking professionally and systematically, then the satisfaction of the touristsshall increase and their point of view on our country shall be more affirmative.
