Two decades of conventional arms control in Europe:1968-1988

Abstract

ABSTRACT This thesis deals with one of the most controversial topics in the international arms control activities with a particular focus on last twenty years: conventional arms control process in Europe. In this context, the thesis discusses three interrelated, multilateral conventional arms control negotiations in retrospect. These are the Mutual and Balanced Force Reduction Talks, the Conference on Disarmament in Europe, and the Conventional Stability Talks. Since the discussion of conventional military balance is widely an integral part of this sort of studies, this thesis too, has treated the matter in the same manner. -iv-
