T The main subject matter of this thesis is the relation between subject and object in Merleau-Ponty ' s philosophy. Merleau-Ponty ' s phenomenological philosophy is grounded on a theory of perception considered as the primary act or primordial life of body-subject in relation to its objects. In this thesis, I try to show that perceptual relation between subject and object is more fundamental than what the objective, causal approach, considers it to be. because of its treatment of this relation in the light of its prejudgements about being in general. - Ill -en_US
