| dc.description.abstract | This thesis is an attempt both to destructure the debates on `Woman in Islam` and to provide an alternative path to follow in discussing the issue. The Bektashi and Mawlawi thoughts provide the base upon which this alternative path is drawn. One of the various Islamic constructions of femininity, as well as its repercussions, is traced here in accordance with the stages that characterize the journey along the cyclical understanding of dervishes.
