Amacın tamamı; seçmeli dersler için mevcut olan yerleri, öğrencilere `adil bir şekilde` dağıtmak ana gayeli, seçmeli ders kayıtlan için bilgisayar destekli bir sistem inşa etmek olarak özetlenebilinir. `Adil olmak` öğrenci tercihlerini dikkate alarak gerçekleştirilmeye çalışılacaktır. Öğrencilerin tercihleri, toplam bir ihale para miktarından, öğrencilerin ihale ettikleri miktarla temsil edilmektedir. ABSTRACT AN AUCTION METHOD FOR ELECTIVE COURSE REGISTRATION Sezer, K. Bilgin M.B.A., Department of Management Supervisor : Assist. Prof. Dr. Cemal Akyel September 1996, 108 pages This thesis describes and proposes a solution for a particular problem related to elective course registration encountered in the Department of Management at Middle East Technical University (METU). The study also presents a computer software coded in Microsoft FoxPro 2.6 for Windows. The overall goal can be summarized as; construction of a computerized system for elective course registrations with the main objective of allocating the open places for elective courses to the students in a `fair manner`. Fairness is tried to be accomplished by considering students' preferences. Students' preferences among the courses are reflected by the bids they make out of a total sum of bidding credits.
