Annelerin evlilik çatışması çözüm stillerinin çocuklarının çatışmayı algılamasındaki biçimleyici rolü

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, annenin yaşadığı evlilik çatışmasının çocuğa etkisinde annenin kullandığıevlilik çatışması çözüm stillerinin çocuğun çatışma algısına yaptığı değişiklik üzerindenanne çocuk ilişkisi çalışılmıştır. Araştırma bir model test etmektedir. Araştırmayaİstanbul'da yaşayan 9-12 yaş aralığında çocuğu olan 123 anne ve çocukları katılmış-tır. Çalışmada katılımcıların bilgilerini öğrenmek için demografik bilgi formu, ÇatışmaÇözüm Stilleri Ölçeği (Özen, 2006), Çocukların Evlilik Çatışmasını Algılaması Ölçeği(Grych ve Fincham, 1992) ve O'Leary Porter Evlilik Çatışması Ölçeği (Porter ve O'Leary,1980) kullanılmıştır. Çalışma sonuçlarına göre boyun eğme yaklaşımı ile çocuklarınçatışma algısı arasında negatif, olumlu yaklaşım ile çocukların çatışma algısı arasındaise pozitif ilişki bulgulanmıştır. Yani annenin kullandığı olumlu ve boyun eğici çatışmaçözüm stilleri çocukların çatışma algısında biçimleyici role sahiptir. In the scope of this study, mother-child relationship; primarily the determining role ofthe marital conflict resolution styles of the mother in the children's perception of interparentalconflict is examined. Briefly, this study tests a model of how mothers' maritalconflict resolution style affects children's perception of this situation. Data were obtainedfrom 123 mothers who live in Istanbul and from their children who are between the ages9-12. To collect data from the participants demographic information form, Conflict ResolutionStyles Scale (Özen, 2006), The Children's Perception of Interparental ConflictScale (Grych, Seid and Fincham, 1992), and The O'Leary–Porter Scale (Porter and O'Leary,1980) are used. According to the results of the study, it is discovered that there is anegative relationship between submission approach and children's perception of maritalconflict, while there is a positive relationship between positive approach and children'sperception of marital conflict are discovered. That is to say, the resolution styles the motheris using have a determining effect on the children's perception of interparental conflict.The results were discussed with respect to the extant literature.Key Words: Marital conflict, Conflict resolution styles, Children's perception of maritalconflict, Mother-child relationship
