Sinemada gözetleyen iktidar: Açlık Oyunları film serisi analizi

Abstract

Gündelik hayatın her zerresine nüfuz etmiş olan gözetimin tarihi, insanlık tarihi kadar eskilere dayanmaktadır. Toplumsal denetimin en etkin araçlarından biri olan gözetim, toplumsal yapı değişip dönüştükçe bu değişimlere paralel olarak değişmiş ve daha karakterize bir hal almıştır. Çalışmada, sinema filmleri üzerinden iktidarların gözetim göstergelerinin tespit edilmesi amaçlanmış ve iktidarın devamlılığını sağlama gayesiyle gerçekleştirdiği gözetim pratiklerine odaklanılmıştır. İncelenmek üzere iktidar ve iktidarın gözetim pratiklerine yönelik çokça göstergeler barındıran Açlık Oyunları serisi (2012-2015) seçilmiştir ve gösterge bilimsel yöntemle iktidarın gözetimine işaret eden göstergeler ifşa edilmiştir. Yapılan analizler ile hayatın her alanında var olan iktidarların gözetim faaliyetlerinin, mahremiyet alanlarını ihlal edebileceği ve hatta kişilerin özgür ve eşit yaşam koşullarını ellerinden alabileceği tespit edilmiştir. İncelenen filmler ile aynı zamanda elde edilen tespitler karşısında kişilerin çaresiz olmadığı da gösterilmektedir. Gözetim pratiklerine karşı direnmek ve bilinçli olmak her koşulda mümkündür. Önemli olan iktidar tarafından dayatılan normalizasyondan sakınmak ve gözetimi olumlu imkanları bağlamında bir bedel ödeme olarak görmemektir.

The history of surveillance, which has permeated all particle of everyday life, dates back to ancient times. Surveillance, which is one of the most effective means of social control, has changed and became more characterized in parallel with these changes as the social structure changes and transforms. Mobile phones, pagers, pos instruments, credit cards and social media accounts through the people now have a digital plane identities and almost become digital. It is therefore almost impossible to escape surveillance. In addition to this, surveillance, which has become an important mechanism for governments, has become the most important tool in terms of maintaining the power and ensuring social control. In this study, it was aimed to determine the surveillance indicators of the governments over the cinema films and focused on the surveillance practices that they carried out in order to ensure the continuity of the power. With the aim of examine these surveillance practices, film analyzes are included. The Hunger Games series (2012-2015), which contains a lot of indications about the surveillance practices of power were selected for the study. While the films were examined, the elements of the narrative structure, which constitute the integrity of the films, were evaluated individually and the indicators indicating the supervision of power by semiotic method were revealed. With the analyzes conducted, it has been determined that the oversight of the power in all areas of life can violate the privacy areas and even take the free and equal living conditions of the people. It is also shown that people are not helpless in the face of the findings of the films examined. Resistance and oversight of surveillance practices are possible under all circumstances. What is important is to avoid the normalization imposed by the ruling and not to consider supervision as a payment in the context of favorable opportunities.
