Abstract
To explore if Tablet computer and smart mobile phone usage cause any effect onthe refractive status and comfort of eyes. The study was conducted with a cross-sectional case series design.Between June to October 2015 two group are formed from patients admitted to EyeClinic of Medicine Faculty Department of Ophthalmology.Group-1 consisting of Ages ranged between 7-14 (Childhood) 53 cases, Group-2consisting of ages ranged between 15-40 (adults) 51 patients (a total of 104 people ).Cases in Group-1 and Group-2 in the event of tablet computers and smart phones usingtime , is divided into two subgroups, including much than 3 hours and less than 3 hours. And thereafter in the resulting total of 4 subgroup cases, refraction and eyeredness, tearing, burning, stinging, fatigue, feelings of tension, sleep easy to come atworking time including comfort assessments symptoms ,were compared by intragroupand intergroup cross comparison.Only normal eyes selected for this research and who have any systemic ilness.Statistical analyzes were performed by SPSS statistical software packages forWindows 10.0. P <0.05 was considered statistically significant. In the 7-14 age group, between the subgroups, in both non-cycloplegic andcycloplegic spherical equivalent values there were statistical significant differences; inmore than 3 hour users there was a more myopic deviation. In this group, there was asignificant statistical difference only in eye fatigue. In the Group-2, there were no statistically significant differences between thesubgroups either refraction values or the eye symptoms.
