Toward this end, the criminal justice professionals are surveyed, the ?Child Sexual Abuse? cases filed at the Court of Canakkale are examined, and the findings are evaluated. The sample includes public prosecutors (49 percent), judges (41 percent), and other criminal justice professionals (10 percent). Of the participants, 39.8 percent mentioned that they have taken statements from the child victims of sexual crime at least twice and 45.4 percent of those who participated into this survey stated that the statements were taken at least three times. 57.7 percent of the participants stated that the victims were examined by a doctor at least twice and 23.7 percent of the surveyed professionals stated that the victims were seen by a doctor at least three times. The analysis of Heavy Penal Court case files reveals that 80.3 percent of the victims are female and 19.6 percent are male. Of the victims 63.9 percent are between the ages of 11 and 15, 20.7 percent are between the ages of 16 and 18, and 15.3 percent are 10 years old or younger. In 63.3 percent of the cases that were examined the victims were exposed to qualified sexual abuse, in 25.5 percent of the cases the victims were exposed to simple sexual abuse, and in 14.4 percent of the cases the offense was committed against a minor. Similarly, of the victims 32.8 percent were examined by a doctor twice, 20 percent 3 times, and 7.1 percent of the victims were examined 4 times or more.
