Abstract

Türklerin Anadolu'ya yerleşmelerinden sonra tüm sanat alanlarında görülen gelişmeler cilt sanatında da büyük ölçüde kendini göstermiş yeni üslûplar ortaya çıkmıştır.Günümüz iletişim ve bilgi çağında hem görsel hem metinsel anlamı içinde bilgilenme ve kültürlenme aracı olan kitap; sayfa düzeni, kapak tasarımı ile bir sanat yapıtı ve yazar ile okur arasında ilk iletişimi sağlayan kaynak olmaktadır.Kitap kapağı, içeriğindeki mesajı görsel iletişim yoluyla hedef kitleye duyurma işlevini, estetik nitelikleriyle birlikte, resim ve yazıyı birbirini tamamlayan bir düzenleme içinde kullanarak yerine getirir.Bu araştırma tezimde kitaba dair; Batı?da ki ve Doğu?da ki tarihsel gelişim süreci, bu süreçte kağıt ve kitapta uygulanan diğer çok farklı kullanım malzemeleri, kitap ve iç sayfa yüzlerindeki baskı yazılarının ve diğer tasarım görsellerinin günümüze değin gelişim ve değişimi, ön kapak, sırt ve arka kapak, şömiz görselleri ve özel ciltlenmiş pahalı kitaplara uygulanan grafik tasarım uygulamalarının evrimi tüm detaylarıyla irdelenerek verilmeye çalışılmıştır.Anahtar Kelimeler; Görsel Tasarım, Kitap Kapakları, Kitap Kapağı Tasarımı, Geçmişten Günümüze Kitap Olgusu
