Yabancılara Türkçe öğretiminde filmlerin kullanımı (Selvi Boylum Al Yazmalım filmi örneği)

Abstract

Bu araştırma, yabancılara Türkçe öğretimi alanında eksik olduğu düşünülen film yapıtlarının kullanımı konusunda yapılmıştır. Yabancılara öğretiminde aşamalar kaydedilmiş olan dillerin öğretimi sırasında kullanılan filmlerin, hedef dilin kültürünü öğrencilere öğretmedeki etkisi dünya çapında bilinmektedir. Kültür öğretiminin, dili öğrencilerin ilgisine açacağı düşünüldüğünde çalışmanın Türkçenin yabancı dil olarak öğretimi alanındaki önemi anlaşılacaktır.Öğrencilerin seviyesine ve kültür öğretimi konusunda kullanılmasının uygun olduğunu düşündüğümüz `Selvi Boylum Al Yazmalım` filminin izletilmesi ve öğretmen yönlendirmesi ile de kültür öğretimi konusundaki katkılarının araştırıldığı bu çalışma, aynı zamanda öğrencilerin kültür ögelerini öğrenmesinin ardından kalıcılık düzeylerini de ölçmektedir. Öğrencilerden, işlenilen dersler sırasında fark ettiği Türk Kültür ögelerini not alması istenmiş ve not alınan bu kâğıtlar doküman analizi yöntemi ile incelenmiştir. Elde edilen veriler göstermiştir ki öğretmen yönlendirmesi sonucunda Türk Kültür ögeleri, geleneksel olarak tabir edilen yöntemlerden çok daha verimli biçimde filmler kullanılarak öğretilebilmiştir. Filmlerin öğrenciler tarafından ilgi ile takip edilmesi, öğrenmedeki verimi arttırmış, görsel olarak sunulan kültürel unsurlar, kuru bilgiden çok daha öteye geçerek kalıcı hale gelmiştir.

This research was carried out on the topic of using films in Teaching Turkish to Foreign Learners, which is considered lacking in the field of Teaching Turkish to Foreign Learners. It is World wide known that film sused in the process of teaching languages, especially the ones that are accepted to be learned to a certain extent, have a great deal of effect on teaching students the culture of the target language. When we think about the fact that teaching culture will motivate the students to learn the target language, the significance of the study in the field of Teaching Turkish as a Foreign Language will be realised.This study, in which we plan to get the learners to watch the film `Selvi Boylum Al Yazmalım` which is found suitable in terms of the level of the students and teaching the cultural elements and in which we searchfor the benefits of using films in the process of teaching culture through teacher guidance, this study also tests the permanence levels of the cultural elements following the learning of these elements by the students. The students were asked to taken otes about the Turkish Cultural elements during the lessons and later on these notes were analyzed by the method of document analysis. The data gathered showed that Turkish Cultural elements were taught a lot more effectively by using films than the methods referred as traditional. The films catching the attention of the students increased the productivity of the learning, and visually presented cultural elements proved to be more permanent than theoritical information.
